5NL - AK (4 bet pot)

Posted 7 years ago

I think we're too deep to shove AK here? (maybe I'm wrong). But, the plan was to 2x my gutter here, c/f river if we miss. When he min raises flop, we're calling. We brick turn and he shoves.

1. Hero action?
2. What if he bets 1/2-2/3 instead?

UTG+2 is obviously a losing player given his pre flop action and flop minraise, as these are things you just don't see anyone remotely good doing.

I would just give up vs the minraise most of the time against this player type and definitely fold the turn if I got there in this way.

These guys will just dump their stack on us soon enough. We don't need to be going to war with them when we don't have very much.

Well yeah this guy is obvious fish. 4betting for value is fine. We didn't really have any opportunity to shove so that's not really in question.

I'd go for a check call on this flop with gutter, 2 overs and bdfd. And x/f turn unless improve. Are you betting for value or as a bluff?
Our hand can be the best sometimes vs things like AJ,or KJs or random SC that played this way, but on this particular board I wouldn't sweat a x/c then x/f as he maybe sometimes bet a PP or bluff and check back turns and allow us the whole runout but anything else beats us and will never fold generally him being a fish.

He can defo have some Qx anyway. AQ, KQ, ATs, TT, JJ, etc. He did raise our UTG raise from MP anyway.

As played, we probably have to call the min raise especially as we're a little deeper but give up on turns when not improved.

I'd check the flop and on that turn if I check/called flop then I would just check/fold and move on. We don't need to be fighting for them all as already mentioned by others.

Don't think we're that deep where calling the flop raise is okay, would be folding as we can't really call a turn bet. Prob would check the flop, don't think we fold better and will get floated some %.

I think it's pretty close tbh, maybe looking over this a bit more. A fold is probably a bit better. If we ever hit a straight then it's still not the nuts anyway.
