I guess we can bet this river if we are willing to turn some pairs with hearts into bluffs. A,9h would be the best candidate. Also, given its 5nl i can see good reason for potting river and folding to a raise.

I would always go for a bet bet bet line here with this hand. The flop check i do not think is correct and we should just be thinking value and building a pot. If we are not semi bluffing with this hand then which are we?

I disagree. The check/call on the flop is by far the best play. We have no showdown value but not the nut draw. We are more then happy to see turns and rivers but not happy to see a lot of money go in on the flop.

I think that flop can go either way and I prefer check/calling vs. more competent opponents, but I'd slightly favor betting against recreational players. I'd also go for a lead bet on the river simply because your average NL5 anonymous table opponent won't be very good at applying pressure and/or value betting and I expect him to miss the third barrel in this spot fairly often.

I agree with this, if we are not betting this hand here, so how do u want to get value when u hit any of your outs, and also u can semibluff this hand. Dont like the X/C strat to this particular hand.

It seems like you have a very simplistic and narrow outlook on poker. You check/call this combo because it is optimal to do so. You need flush combos on the turn when you do check/call or someone like myself could exploit you and barrel aggressively when the flush does hit as you are taking all your flush draws and betting them.

I see value in both betting and checking the flop. One pretty important one for checking is so you can have flushes on the turn or river after checking this flop, which you'll find most players don't. Because of that this will typically be an insanely profitable bluff spot for villain on the river. I'd be checking river against someone I know aggressive or any type of reg really expecting them to bluff a ton. Considering it's anonymous and 5NL where players are generally stationy and not too aggressive, I think the line @trollord59 suggested of just mashing river might be best.

For me in this limit(nl5) i prefer to increase the value that i get from hands, i understand your point, but probably i wouldnt worry about someone exploiting me, and having an optimal strat on nl5. Probably if it was bigger limits i would be worried about not being exploited. If u think thats necessary on nl5 thats your point, i have been around a long time, to know thats no correct answer in poker, u thinking that about someone game, and thinking the optimal way is the only way to play, can say that u think u have the correct answer for all, in a game with a lot of possible solutions.
