Deep in $5 KO Tournament with 9-9

So I had been playing fairly tight and was beginning to loosen up and open my range given the short stacks and with the final table bubble approaching. Villian was the chip leader (playing 42/28) and had been very active stealing pots.

Should I be folding this to the 3bet shove? I am quite well set with plenty of short stacks and probably would have coasted to the final table if I had passed.


On the other hand, this would have taken me to 3rd in chips and gave me a lot more power around the final table bubble. Not sure if it was an okay play given the scenario?

I think I would be taking this spot based on the info you've given and the situation. Were 6 handed, we have ~18 BBS, its a KO tourny, we have a mid to strong pair and the chip leader of the table who has been very active has jammed over our open.

SB range could be fairly wide considering he has you covered and would likely have some smaller pairs included that jam here IMO + all the combos of overs depending on how light he could be, defo AQ+ maybe some KQ/KQs combos and llikely AJ.

As you said if you win this pot your in a V good spot to apply max pressure, pick up bounties and win the tournament which is what we should be aiming for, all the monies up top right Smile
