Hands from my second session of today (NL20)

Posted 8 years agoEdited 8 years ago

Hand 1 effective stacks 100

Calling station limps from the MP
Hero raises from the BTN to 1,00
Calling station calls 1,00

FLOP KQJ Pot 2,30

Calling station bets 2,30
Hero raises to 6,60

TURN 7

Calling station bets all-in
Hero calls

Calling station wins the pot wih a set of sevens. Raise sizing correct on the flop? Do we have to fold at some point?

Hand 2

Effective stacks 100

The villain is unknown

The villain raises from mp to 0,90
Hero raises from the BTN to 2,40 with KK

My pf raise is too small. 2,70-3,00 would have been better.

FLOP 26A Pot 5,25

Villain check
Hero check

TURN K Pot 5,25

Villain bets 3,50
Hero hero raises to 7,50
Villain call 4,20

RIVER 88 Pot 20,25

Hero bet 10,08
Villain call 10,08

Is my bet sizing correct? Villain shows a set of aces, and wins the pot. What a fuck? For real?

The second hand is NL30, not NL20 as mentioned in the topic. By the way, if you see that I am making big mistakes and should play on lower limits, please say so. I am asking this because I am not actually sure anymore if I am able to beat this limit or not. However my sample size is way too small to say this for sure, and it is really hard to be objective about my game. For this reason I keep posting my big losing hands very frequently. My bankroll is still okay and because I have a job I do not mind redepositing if in need. I hope that I do not have to do that.

Having just read you other post with straight river may I suggest something.

Just post one hand and your question in each post. Give as much information as you can think of about the villain in question, if you have statistics about them, post them to.

I t seems from reading you posts you are getting a bit confused as to which hand you are talking about and this might help fix that.
It's also very important to post the hand accurately, remember others haven't seen the hand before and may easily come to the wrong conclusion, which in turn will result in you being given the wrong advice and nobody wants that to happen.

As for beating the limit you are on I can't comment. I would ask have you seen this thread? The coach will let you know how you are doing from that. Smile

Here's a link to my first vid to give you an idea of how they work:

No doubt others will have more and better advice for you. Good luck and have fun.

Yes. I will be more accurate on that. I actually put all the information I have about the villain. In these hands I have posted today, it is all the information I had. I try to observe the other players actions even more. Thank you for the links, and I will check the video!

I think Jon reviewed one of the videos I posted in my poker diary. It was 15 minutes long, he said that most of the playes I made was correct and standard.

And thank you for the tip! I have been thinking about that. Is is easier to make many topics of different hands., or post them separately? I have been thinking that I do not want spam like 10 new topics in every day, so this is why I have squeezed them in one topic. I think I will post them separately in the future.

Post them separately and don't worry about it looking like spam. It isn't spamming it's trying to learn, which is why we are here isn't it? Post 100 hands a day if you feel you need to, the guys and gals on here are awesome and will help you improve as much and as far as you want to go!
