Id basically been running over these 2 remaining players for the last few orbits no real history other than that.

My thinking here was Im cbetting this board with my gut shot, 1 over and BD hearts, when I get check raised especially vs my sizing I think this guy is way more weighted towards draws than any kind of value combo so I opt to take a turn.

That turn is about as good a card as its going to get for my hand other than binking the straight vs his range so when he leads I felt he was still way too bluff heavy and saw this as a great spot to apply some ICM pressure, jam and force him to fold out a huge portion of his range and stack.

Thoughts? sexy or nah?

Classic Curl here...Yeh it's something and sexy might be the word for it. It is weird for them to get out of line vs you if you have been running them over but I guess he was just wanting to play back.

Question is what value hands do you play this way?

My thinking was that he's playing back at me light for sure, way more draws and combo draws that need to bet fold on turn blanks.

We do have outs if we're called light but the point here is just denying villain his equity on the turn with the jam over the top, he needs to fold a huge portion of his range.

We can for sure play any over pair this way.

Explain why you wouldnt play 7s through Aces even a strong 6 exactly like this on this board texture?

Also the thing is this isn't a spot where we need to be balanced we can take an exploitative line so often given stack sizes and mine and his sizing flop and turn.

I tell a lie, 7s 8s I would not play this way cos they block a decent portion of his bluffing range

I would generally size those over pairs pile the flop a bunch or if they don't they are always just calling down to induce and bluff catch vs villain

Problem with that thinking is villain folds a lot of his air on the flop if we pile and likely only gets in hands that have us beat or decent combo draws. On this texture if we call flop and see such a fine turn card I don't think we should be just calling to induce / let villain realise his equity.

The pots easily big enough for us to rip all our over pairs now and put us in a stronger position to TID rather than risking villain rivering us for a huge pot in a spot he may give up on river blanks anyways.

Bad logic, if you are calling flop because you think villain has air you should never jam the turn as the turn is literally a nutted card for us so we should just keep letting him bomb.

Im calling flop because villain has us beat or has a draw that only calls if he has like 40% + equity vs our over pair if we jam.

Im jamming turn because as you say that card is great for us but we also don't want villain to realise his equity on a dble flush straightening board.

Im playing call call call on a shit tonne of none club turns.

I obv get the idea that slow playing over pairs here can be a line we take often but this isn't a board I'm doing it on, I think denying equity on the turn has way more merit.
