KK deep stacked in 16.50 PKO - line check

Posted 6 years ago

Cant get my HH to convert anywhere and its winding me up so this is the format for now, apologies.

Deep in the $16.50 PKO on stars, I want to know a few things really.

I like the idea of throwing this particular combos with spades into our c/c range for pot control and to allow villain to bluff some combos?

At the same time it seems like we need to bet to get value from a pretty strong range, Qs Ts Js with a spade that can check back flop if we do opt to start with a check ourselves.

* bet sizing pre vs this stack size, 4x?
* line on the flop, c/c? bet, if so what size?
* if we do bet and get raised, plan for the hand? flat raise call turn jam? call raise jam blank turns? ship it on the flop?

From BB I would go bigger pre than general which I think you have done. If I had position I would go ~ 20k mark.

On the flop I would have a 25 - 35% pot lead likely stacking to a raise or calling shove, opting to check some turns to check raise if called. Being out of position I just want to get it in. If they raise flop they are going to feel committed with some hands we have crushed. They should have like 180k back into 100k pot or so on the turn if they call.

I would feel dirty if they called flop, turn bricked, I bet and they shoved, but not folding given SPR after betting and they can have a bunch of worse hands, but their range here should be more nutted than hands that might raise flop and call off.

I think the PKO format encourages you to get it in vs people you cover, run up a stack, and build up your bounties.

I defo agree with 25-30% pot cb on the flop, the only problem is the hands that do raise flop as that we do have beat are likely only AQ AK w/As and even then we only have ~56%. In reality Villain can raise all flopped flushes without As which can be 9T, 89, TJ, JQ, as well as flopped sets, and the AsK AsQ w combos, were not doing so well against that range we have ~39%, some of those flushes may be unlikely but we cant discount them and villain may even add his nut flush combos into his raising range to be balance when he does raise As.

Given that a flop raise puts us in a pretty disgusting spot I actually think playing a c/c line here may be optimal, the hands we can get value from are 9s-Qs maybe some smaller PP w/spade but were not feeling comfortable bet bet jamming on that board even if it bricks IMO, were likely getting 2 streets max from PPs that arent Js Qs.

Interesting spot unless I'm over thinking it.

I think a good cbet size is around 30-35% here. I dont think we need to go any lower as all hands which call 25 call 35 on this board and in terms of balance i just dont think we bluff complete air balls here right? Generally? maybe?

If raise I probably just pile it in and run into so many players spazzing with worse pairs or bad draws. I think this is a must cbet spot tho and not a c/r thingaling.

just get value and assess the situation on all run outs. Typically a S turn can check call or check check and lead river for value and don't fold.

I mean yeh my standard here is 30-35 tbh, never planning to c/r as I don't do that with any of my range I don't think.

I just don't really see players raise these monotone boards with out a very strong range so if we do see that I'm not a fan of piling when were so deep, for sure gonna be a bad equity spot a big percentage of the time.

Swaying towards a cb re asses turns as you say line rather than c/c as I was originally thinking, I think we cb this board with our range very frequently. The hand plays out easier in a variety of ways if we take that line, were literally guessing if we c/c and get barreled.
