Live MTT - Midstages - Full house on the river

Posted 7 years ago

I've put this in my journey thread (With my actions and result of the hands - but please comment before looking Smile )

Local £25 bounty comp. Not the best standard of play but some solid regs.

Blinds 300/600/50. I've got about 40k.

I'm in the BB with A2hh. Folded round to the button, an older gent, quite a tight player who min-raises. SB calls and I just call.

Flop 4s9s4h.

SB checks, I lead 2k. Both players call

Turn 4d

Checks all round.

River As

SB checks, I bet 4k.

Button raises to 10k and the SB thinks and says "I guess we're chopping it then" and shoves for about 30k.

My move?

Bleugh, I just don't think I can find a fold here ever. Normally I hate calling for the chop, especially after the SB's little speech about "I guess we're chopping" but there shouldn't be much 4x out there ant the only other hand that we're realistically behind is 99.

I just sigh and call and say NH thought gritted teeth if we are losing here.

fold to the 4x and vomit if it is a chop Yes .... 50bb is a bit to dust off on the river hoping to chop.

I'm folding here, don't want to risk my 80% of my stack to merely chop a pot at best.

Did you have a solid reason for donking multiway on the flop? With a tight player opening, albeit on the BTN, it doesn't look like a great spot.

On the river though I'm folding. I've called enough of these over the years and seen quads more times than I care to remember. SB has no reason to shove Ax when BTN has already raised. He has to fear quads is a possibility at this point.
