Anon v the Saturday night crew turned up early. No HUD.

All three are loosey-goosey guys having fun and the last thing anyone folded was a tee-shirt.

I thought this was a good time to set mine even though I'm in the SB, I can get paid off by TP or better by these guys.

Question is, is it still too loose a call given the re-raise by MP? I thought it was becasue UTG can join the fun to, it just seems large if UTG then ships it is all.

Thanks.

I agree it's too loose and would click the fold button. You have several things working against you.
1) You're not closing the action so if UTG 4bets you just set 8bb on fire.
2) You're in the sb so extracting value will be much tougher than normal. It still won't be crazy hard because the stack to pot ratio will be super small but still.
3) 100bb deep you shouldn't have the implied odds on your set here unless these guys are CRAZY and you get a couple stacks. This is a significantly different spot than if you're, for example, in UTG's spot. You need to call 8bb to setmine while a raiser that got 3bet only needs to call 6bb.

In this spot I'd only come along with strong value hands and pretty much nothing speculative.

Folding here sounds about right, I'd be calling if we were closing the action but we're not guaranteed to see a flop. I'd call here if we were 130bb or more deep.

Thanks guys, I should really have known that shouldn't I but these guys were so bad it was such a temptation.

I've thought about these spots a bit lately and made a similar fold. I think firstly the fact that we don't know what UTG does behind is a bit annoying, and also I think this could be one of those spots where you end up getting set over setted in some of the spots where money goes in.
That's my 2 cents anyway.

Clear fold this Pwll if not closing the action as Harv says. One question that occurs to me reading the hand and your commentary at the start. Was your mindset on point at that time? I ask because I'm projected how I am. Loose players chucking money about and hitting everycard going I end up being a bit to call heavy, thinking my implied odds are huge as they are spewy and will pay me off. In reality its not because if I then make a hand and take aggressive action it stands out vs my passive play and they get off it.

Any chance there was any of that going on?

@thetallpaul something like that yes, this lot wouldn't be folding any time soon though. But yes, you are kinda right and no, my gameface wasn't on properly.

Set mining OOP is tough in today's games at the best of times. When you've got a nut who sees so much dead money in the pot, and he's UTG it's so much more likely than usual that he'll go with it.

Around 7-8bb is my limit for set mining vs a 3 bet when I'm closing the action and it's thin then, here I think it's just insane.

Interested to know what @Komododragonjesus and @Harvie would cold call in this spot versus these three bad players and say two regs if we ignore the CO.
