Anon hudless and it's all a bit reggish and passive.

Ok, so when I do this and smash the flop I'm getting a lot of folds v my cbet.

Am I just results orientated again or should I change and maybe chk a couple of streets, development dependent of course.
Say we change the Kx for a 9x, would that sort of thing make a difference? Maybe I could chk back a better kicker?

Maybe just don't raise it in the first place!? Smile

I thought this was a bit more interesting (and yes, maybe a bit too much poker for nl10?) than the usual, should I shove or not stuff. Smile

Thanks.

Looks like an easy cbet to me, if we get raised it's a flat in position. We lose too much value on later streets if we check and the flush hits. If the Kc was 9c I'd still bet, maybe I'd check behind if it was 9d depending on the player.

I like checking back actually. We want some nut flush draws to to cooler villain when we check. We also the have a good bluff catcher.

Being will be+EV but we also get called by quite a few better have and not loads of weaker ones. I therefore check to strengthen my checking range

I think maybe a check back could be decent. The reason is that we can sure raise for value if we hit our draw and it looks less believable. But also our made hand isn't THAT strong so if we check and go for 2 streets and our flush misses, or call 2 streets then it mightwork out better for us and we can still get a street of value from worse that decides to turn their hand into a bluff.

I mean you absolutely smashed that flop so I guess its major +EV either way. I think I would make the call on villain dependant, so if anon and we are saying regish and passive then I think I'd just bet. If we check no guarantee that anyone will take the bait, plus if we are checking this to cooler them, I think we get the money in flush over flush anyway so not sure there is major difference.

Vs more active/agressive players then yeah I love a check back, call down unless hit flush, raise and stack them plan.

I would bet this 100% of the time. It's important to retain the option of betting three streets if we bink on the turn to avoid missing value from draws and hands which might call you down but not raise at any point.

The fact you've pegged him as passive makes it more likely he'll be a calling station as well.

Ok thanks a lot everyone, good stuff.

I'll chime in as well Smile

Definitely raise pre!

I would be betting flop. While I see the value in checking both for balance and bluffcatching, the AKx board is one you'll typically have a nice EV advantage on. The bigger advantage you have the more you should be betting so this is a spot I'll often just bet my entire opening range (or close to it) unless I have a read on villain that tells me to do something else. I'd go with a small 1/3-1/2 pot sizing to start. On other boards I would consider checking back this hand sometimes.

Thank you KDJ, I'll try to remember it.

Thanks again all. Smile

Keep in mind when you smash the flop you are more likely to get folds as you block a lot of combinations of hands that will give you action. Ex. open AA get A96r bet and get folds.

Open QQ get 2 callers then A96r hits you decide to bet and both call Worried
