Anon, yesterdays fun table. Smile

This doesn't crop up all that often, just wondered, ship it preflop now or raise enough to shove any flop?

I was a bit betwixed and between so made it enough to shove the flop, just and I don't want rid of everybody do I?
It works but was it right? Yes I know it looks easy to you lot and to me in hindsight, but when you're in game not used to it...

Thanks.

God Pre but do not jam the flop as we just get so many folds. Why would you want to do this is the question? The board is super dry so just make a really small bet say 1/3 pot and get value from worse pocket pairs and Qx type hands.

Jamming is obviously +EV, but as Stratoman advises, slowing down a bit may extract additional value.

I doubt villains fold Qx often here, but if you make the 1/3 pot size bet you never know if they can talk themselves into a "pot odds call" with a smaller pair which they might fold to a shove.

I'd say 4betting pre is better than just shoving. I suck at math right now but I think you might be able to go a bit bigger since the table seems crazy.

I'd really prefer a smaller bet on the flop. 1/3 seems to be the consensus in here but really you could go even smaller, maybe something like 1/4. I'm not sure which of those would be higher EV but I would love both of them. Give your opponents room to make mistakes and float with stuff they shouldn't or try a x/r bluff against your bet. If anyone has a strong hand like TP here they'll likely but in the rest of the money in for you on the flop or just get it in on the turn.

Ok nice job guys, thank you very much.
I shipped the flop and the both called, with 99 and QTo and missed, so I was fortunate. I'm fine with that, it's easier than being good! Smile
