NL10 QQ

The board was pretty dry generally and I thought not to go too high and fold out his randomness.
So when I've been betting both streets post flop and he leads out here... am I always blindly calling?
I do beat a lot of pairs and this guy is kinda fishy and might so some random stuff, I feel it's a tough fold.

The thing is mainly that he's suddenly leading which gets me a bit, because why would he do this with any of his pairs or bluffs?

I feel I want to fold this, but not sure I can bring myself to do it because of all the worse pairs we beat.

This player type will often play 5x this way because they don't want to lose you by raising but daren't allow you to check the river back. I think he will show up with random overcards here some % though.

Never folding this! I would make it 10c bigger otf as it won't change his calling range Smile

My play here would be bet bigger on the flop and turn, fold river to the bet - if I was on the ball that is.

If anyone is willing to think a player like this is chk/calling 2 streets then donking out river as a bluff they are very welcome to call it; not for me thanks, that board smacks our friend straight in the kisser.

See, I really am a nit. Giggle

This is exactly what I thought in game. I'm going to have to assume the role the nit lord more often it seems, or these guys will get me!

So they won't do this with 88-JJ.... Only need to win 27ish% of the time

@CrazyCookie Well that was my first thought of course, but would they usually go for x/c x/c b line in this case? I beat quite a few hands but I'm not sure if he plays that line with them, unless he just thinks I'm bluffing overcards and sees he still has an overpair by the river so goes for a bet in case I check back?

I don't think he is thinking at all Cheeky sure we run into 5x. Fair bit but I think that we win at least 25% of the time.

CrazyCookie: I don't think he is thinking at all :P

Hah sure. Well I do apply that into my decision making process, which is why I did call in the end. The fact that opponent might not really know what he/she is doing has to factor in (when they seem fishy). So in the end... I guess it's just a call (but not loving it) as they say.

This is likely a hand like A5 .... people check call flop to keep you in see the suited turn and decide it will get checked back a lot and you may now have 22-25% or so and elect to lead. That said enough people in my time playing have done this with odd hands that I am finding it difficult folding QQ though long term it may be the case that readless calling down here is a mistake. Looking at peoples stats is helpful, but it is better to look at their hand history to get an idea of how they think... so people will run these complicated "aggro superstar" bluffs which really are just them being spewy monkies, and so you call down much much wider and let them dust off stacks. Others they will 90% have A5 56 57 22 A4ss and the other 10% are a very weirdly played KK+ lol.

Depends on the player. Some loons love to 'outplay' you so will do this with J9o or something. But on a connected, 3 flush, paired board when a guy x/c x/c donk your one pair hand is dead. He has spades, A4, or a FH. I doubt its even trips that often. Its worth a look at your database to just get a sense of what this line means, but in my database its the rivered nuts or slowplayed nuts like always. The nuts though is relative. They might still think A4 is the nuts for example.
