Car crash post flop. Pre standard, flop I bet small to get calls from diamonds, combo draws, 88+, some overcards with a BDFD. Same on turn, now some turned Jx as well. River sucks a bit and I check to call a smallish bet and he overbets.

3 streets of value would have been my default line against an unknown. Hard to see many 4x in their range that calls a 3bet pre flop.

As played, I think I'm folding the river, really don't expect them to be betting worse for value as you can have QQ-AA on the river so I Don't expect them to value bet Jx or other 1 pair type hands.

I would definitely be going bigger on flop and turn. All pairs and draws will still be calling the bigger bets.

I'd fold to the river bet. Many players will just play straightforward with their range here, ie checking back 88+, bluffing missed draws and vbetting all hands that beat you. Since there are a decent amount of combos of sets and some straights (both the rare 4x and 98s) on this river I think there are enough value hands that villain can get away with bluffing his few combos of missed draws and we can't do much about it.

Yeah why so small bets? Did you let @pwll play this hand for you.... Wink

55% flop turn then on this runout 25% fold v shove. AP probably just fold, 10nl over bet is not something you see with a high crew of bluffs... And you need him to be bluffing like 40% here :')

I don't think we're betting small to 'get calls' from etc etc. Or invite them along with an amazing price with whatever they have. You just make their life easy.

Sizings, I go pretty much as above ^

I don't think this is a spot we want to be using small bets.

You are not quite betting big enough on the turn to set up stacks for the river. Might aswell do this even if we don't plan on shoving every river. Since river completes the 4-to-straight it should be a x/f. I wouldn't describe this as a car crash exactly, we just caught a bad river card and need to increase sizings postflop somewhat.

The line looks totally standard apart from the sizings.

At 10NL I'm not looking for bet three streets against an unknown on this run out anyway. Normally when there's very few to no combos of worse overpairs it's tough to get any value.

With reads I sometimes go for a small third value bet on a safe river with overpairs in a 3 bet pot, but even if the four straight doesn't come, what are you expecting him to call with if you bet?
