NL20 - MP vs BTN Turn decisin

Posted 7 years ago

Villain is a reg 23/18. MP rfi:17. Flop cb: 61 (oop: 50). Turn cb:33. (514 hand)
Retrospect I think pre I should 3b or fold my hand.
I dont have enough hands on him about his river bets.
OTT should I bet the turn to prevent villain bluff the river?
My thought was that I can check back here because I don't have to worry about lot of rivers.
Maybe he realises that I have SDV, and turned his hand into a bluff? I don't know Smile
How should I think in this spot?
Thank you

Post flop your line looks fine (I'd fold river), I'd most likely bet the turn for value and check back most rivers though.

Pre flop I'd 3bet, don't think KQo is good enough to call against two players, will be hard to play Kxx and Qxx flops.

I would bet the turn for value because we have a great hand and always tons of EQ. It also fits well with my over all strategy vs a player like this that doesnt bet a lot of turns. Vs them we want to float alot and stab turns. If we do that we also need to put in as many VB's in our range as we can and this hand fits in to this category.

This is a standard squeeze spot pre. Offsuit hands such as this don't overcall very well, even in position. You have blockers for KK QQ AK AQ which makes it more likely you can get folds.

As played I think it's ok. I would be tempted to make a small value/protection bet on the turn though. Villain's stats indicate that he probably has Kx here quite a lot, and we're only beating KJs but there's always a chance he c bets his small pairs andwe can get thin value from anything with a diamond draw with his pair.

Betting the turn also has a protection element making it likely we get checked into on the river allowing us to check behind.

I think its a great spot to sqz. As you played im betting turn . On the river dont think he can have any 7. I dont like to transform the hand in to the bluff because you checked the turn and you are not gonna check back many flushes or str8s.
