NL25 98

Pre happy to call with position on the loon and reg forced to play face up with the loon there. Flop check I think is fine, turn the flush but paired board and not a great flush so check to BTN. He checks back. River we get a big bet, he'd been doing this every hand and getting folds so thought about raising but felt no value in it and would rule out BTN calling.

When we hit the flush , we need to bet, not just because of our hand strangth, but because if a fourth of suit hits river then it's messes our hand up. I think set bets flop on this board, but some people are random and might not ok, but we can't just count on that.

Unless SB randomly had KJ then I don't know what we worry about.

I'm not sure what we end up beat by?

Lead the turn to get calls from pairs and hands like ah which can turn the nuts. Think checking here is leaving too much money on the table and the reason we called with 98h was to hit our draw - so let's bet.

River I would have clicked it back, hard to see any value hand get away from a min raise.

I would be leading turn with the flush but another option exists.

If you're going to check the turn I think it should be with the intention of checkraising rather than playing passively because the flush isn't that high. The 9 high flush is extremely strong here and both other players are unlikely to have flushes since btn checked back flop and sb checked turn. Checkraising turn is a reasonable line since btn will have Jx a fair amount if he's checking back medium hands on the flop.

I still think it's unlikely either player has a flush so on the river I think a small raise is decent. Calling would be my second choice and I wouldn't really like a large raise since he still can have the rare better than and you don't want to narrow his range enough that it's all he continues with.

I also wanted to add that I don't think btn is ever really calling the river bet after checking back flop and turn unless he rivered a full house, so there isn't really value is calling river to let him in as well.

He had KK. This was the same guy in a few of the HH. I had no idea what he was doing at any point.
