NL25 JJ

Vs loonatic. I could get no read on him. He was overbet donking loads but also double checked flopped nuts to induce multiway then overbet the river there. Rarely opened and he'd had the nuts each time. He then also had limp called and flat in the blinds with KK and AA.

Happy to call IP with big hand. Great flop and happy to call, turn is no worries so call again. River jam sucks. Could be almost anything. I've no idea if he jams Ax here or checks it as SDV. Basically it hinges on that. If he checks Ax then call would be fine I think as then range weighted to missed draws, weak single pairs and air bluffing the scarecard. Dunno.

JJ is annoying vs these guys, I mean he looks loos, but is his raising range above average? Not really. But still because he's a bit spazzy I'd be ok to 3bet pre.

If he was overbet donking a lot then, sure we can go for call call call, but I think by the turn we want to protect our hand a bit.

It's weird because these guys can make us play rather different. River kinda sucks because usually a donk would hate to jam an Ace if he doesn't have it.

I think this is going to be purely read based. You beat 2nd pair so basically it's about whetehr you see him with the ace or not.

You really need to be 3betting this pre.

On the turn, if he's been super aggro like this often then jamming is a really good option. You have a very strong hand and also need a bit of protection. Off the top of my head I wouldn't be super happy about any diamond any Ax Kx Qx Tx 9x 8x and that's a big chunk of the deck.

As played, even though the river is an overcard I'd be playing the "don't fold" game. It will be super high variance but everything missed so he should still have a bunch of air that will get you at least the 33% you need on average.

Again, I agree with @Komododragonjesus. If you know for a fact that villain is a maniac then you should go for somewhat volatile but optimal 'no-fold'em holdem' approach. Sure he will show up with Ax fair amount of the time here, but even if you're right say 40% of the time you're still making lots of money.

When facing bad players you need to extend your 3 bet value range, you're missing way too much value by keeping to the usual QQ+,AK. Even if you have a read that you can't stack it pre, you'll still more than make up for it by playing a bigger pot post flop.

As played my usual line here would be to do what you did and fold the river when the ace comes unless you have stats showing he's 3 barreling with any kind of regular frequency. If that's confirmed then I guess we have to make a dirty call, butI'm never happy doing this, especially on that river.

I'm calling a diamond v a lunatic so only qx+ 12 combos 25%, calling is fine. I don't love shoving as the big edge we have on villain which is let him spew is removed and we only gii v better and the occasional TP

AP I don't mind folding river, he has more Ax to blast OTR than K or Q given he will open all suited Ax but not all KXs QXs

I'd 3bet preflop and not fold. If I can't get the money in preflop at least the pot is a lot bigger and when our buddy bets turn I can shove it.

As played, I mostly fold to these bets, it's an Ax or some odd 2P far to often.

Nice seat selecting by the way. Yes
