NL25-zoom, KJo

Posted 8 years ago

I normally 3bet KJo vs button open, but this time villain had a pretty high 4bet% so I decided to call. He open 50% of his hands from the button.
I had no info on the BB.
Is it an ok spot to just call?
What about my blockbet on the turn with the GS?

I personally I tend to flat KJ and 3b KQo+ for value .. block bet on the turn: I would just bluff catch or get to the river and value bet. Why Stars? lots of other great weaker sites with great bonuses and stuff

I personally 3-Bet KJo v Btn from the SB & take initiative.I've started adding KJs to my SB flatting range.

I don't think we should be looking at it as blocker bet firstly,Once checked through I'd be 100% confident we are good especially from someone quite aggro on the Btn,Its a value bet but we're not strong enough to get 2 streets so I'd be bluff catching the Turn,or going for the one street of value on the river.

3b pre I don't love calling even v aggro. Fold often better than calling here I think.

Turn bet is not good. Check call and maybe check call river. We get called by weak Ax that checked and maybe some other one pair hands. Those one pair hands fold otr so might as well bet river if checked through and get the same value from that and have the chance to bluff catch when he bets.

From the SB i 3b but flat from the bb. Our hand is just not strong enough to flat here.

Post flop I would use my hand as a bluff catcher and never bet out. It is strong enough and blocks enough to make calling any turn or river bet pretty easy.

Not 3betting this hand vs a player with high 4bet is fine.

Flop is good.

Turn I'd continue to be in check/call mode. Your hand doesn't need protection from anything that might fall on the river. By betting you're not allowing your opponents to bluff into your nice bluffcatcher and I guess you're trying to get value from worse Kx and Tx. I don't think you get any value from random Qx or Jx with no pair. So against Kx or Tx you often only get 1 street of value and I'd prefer to take that on the river and give my opponents the most opportunities to bluff with random stuff like 87s.

I think it was played fine except I'd wait til the river to bet and then go for something small like 20% pot to get a curious call from maybe a Tx or worse Kx, pretty confident of having the best of it here.
