NL30 TT, another fold in the river?

Posted 8 years ago

In this hand, I am playing OOP vs a bad calling station. I played little higher game because there was no players in NL10 or NL20 in the morning and I have absolutely no motivation to play NL4 or NL8.

Hero raises from MP to 0,90.
Calling station calls from the MP.

FLOP:

958 Pot 2,85

Hero bets 2,40
Calling station calls 2,40

TURN 8 Pot 10,05

Hero bets 6,00
Calling station calls 6,00

I want him to call with any draw he might have. He has no odds to call, because I am not paying him anything if he hits.

RIVER 9 Pot 22,05

Hero checks
Calling station bets 15,90

I think there is no need to say what was going on in my head when the 9 hits. I do not even consider calling this bet. I swear out loud and fold. What do you think?

If he's a calling station, I think bet, bet, check would be a good line.
Whether river is a x/c or x/f depends on his sizing, calling station doesnt have much of a bluffing range when they bet big.

I think this is a fold. Villain is never value betting worse, and if he has any showdown value he checks behind almost all of the time.

Of course he can be bluffing a missed draw, but if he's a confirmed calling staion then we can expect him to be passive by nature, and checking behind a lot. Also given that 76 has a made straight, there's not that many combos left that even calls twice with a draw.

I would probably check the turn. But as played my range as a whole has enough hands to call with i just check/fold the river and don't sweat it.
