NL4 Kjo too passive or something?

Posted 8 years ago

Hi, I'm new to this site and just started playing at betsafe nl4 so be gentle Smile

It seems I can't win at showdown with two pairs at all. I'm not that passive when I have better hand but should I fold this hand at some point? even preflop? villain has stats vpip 24/ pfr 17, He cbets flop 89% and turn 79%, about 500 hands.

I was thinking that he has AK, KQ, AJ, QTs at least in his range and ofcourse JJ and KK mut should I fold this against this kind of villain?

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Jd Kc
UTG raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 3 BB, fold, BB calls 2 BB

Flop : (9.5 BB, 3 players) Jh 5c Ks
BB checks, UTG bets 7 BB, Hero calls 7 BB, fold

Turn : (23.5 BB, 2 players) 9c
UTG bets 17.5 BB, Hero calls 17.5 BB

UTG bets 43.5 BB, Hero calls 43.5 BB

UTG shows Js Jc (Three of a Kind, Jacks)
(Pre 68%, Flop 91%, Turn 95%)

Hero mucks Jd Kc (Two Pair, Kings and Jacks)

UTG wins 142.5 BB

I know I call too much at the river and I have to patch this leak immediately because it kills my winrate Sad

Don't call pre flop with KJo vs a UTG raise, it's a 3bet or fold as you will be dominated against AK/AJ/KQs/KK/JJ often.

Honestly the turn is close to be an exploitive fold given their sizing, as I don't see worse betting for value. River for me is a muck for that sizing, obvious value and we don't beat any value hand that 3 barrels from UTG IMO.

The only hand we would beat is AA which I think slows down on the turn when QT gets there.
