NL50 Snap - TP and OESD in 3bp facing turn donk shove. Hero?

Posted 6 years agoEdited 6 years ago

Such a strange line. What does he bet/call flop with and donk that turn on? Any trips or 2 pair he is 3 betting flop surely? He doesn't slowplay AQ and then donk flop as he'd x/r for value. AK surely he check calls turn? What's your play here and what do you put him on? How is the rest of the hand? Preflop feels fine, wasn't 100% on my flop line.

Only have 4 hands on villain and he's 75/50 so meaningless really. Snap does tend to be slightly looser than regular but no real reads on this guy.

SB: $52.09 (104.2 bb)
BB: $64.89 (129.8 bb)
UTG: $50 (100 bb)
Hero (MP): $50.72 (101.4 bb)
CO: $97.66 (195.3 bb)
BTN: $38.07 (76.1 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with KQ
UTG folds, Hero raises to $1.43, CO calls $1.43, BTN folds, SB raises to $4.86, BB folds, Hero calls $3.43, CO folds

Flop: ($11.65) KJ10 (2 players)
SB bets $4, Hero raises to $12, SB calls $8

Turn: ($35.65) 3 (2 players)
SB bets $35.23 and is all-in

Hero?

I think I'm calling with this combo OTF because we have very decent showdown value to go with our open ender, Id be inclined to raise my JQs QTs combos instead if we opt to call those pre. We can jam spade turns to deny some flush draw equity if we want but otherwise just having this in my call call call range on most run outs.

As for villain the only hands that make sense to me would be some 2 pair combos that want to see a blank turn before ripping, KJ, KT, TJ but I may call anyways because of the way we opted to play the flop, we have a decent amount of outs against that range. As you say likely doesn't have us crushed with AQ or sets.

Yeh raising here makes little sense as we want villain to continue to bluff and we are not exactly in a nutted position here. Just call down frequently and raise good rivers (ace mainly) if it gets that far.

As played I guess I am calling it off but would never raise and bloat the pot in the first place so it's basically an issue with your line here and not villains imo.

Yea agree, totally unnecessary raise there. Fortunately it worked out but should be a clear call IP.

If I was OOP and he c bet, would you be raising there or calling? If just calling are you x/c turn and river too if he pots it or shoves? How about if turn or river is an ace ir a heart?

I'd say one of the spots I often struggle with is having a showdown-worthy hand OOP (top pair for instance) and being caught between x/c and just hoping draws don't come and x/r and potentially bloating and losing a bigger pot. X/c 3 streets OOP feels like spew but x/r and then having to potentially barrel twice with TP also feels like spew!
