NL50, squeezed pot IP, river bluff spot

Posted 8 years ago

UTG seems to be fun player, SB is a reg, just 350 hands on him, playing 33/23 so far with 8.3 tot 3bet, has cbet flop 3/4 times.

Flop I call as I suppose I'll get value if bink, turn I take a free card as I don't believe I have much FE. I have quite a few 10X on river, while villain has close to none, and in addition to 0 sdv bet is in order?

Interesting spot with different options.

On the turn can we not bet small with a view to shoving maybe all rivers except a K or Q? Surely villain isn't checking 2 pair to you on the turn?, or maybe I'm underestimating how often he's check raising all in there. If we expect him to always bet his value hands on the turn then do we not have FE to get him off a decent chunk of his range?

I'm concerned about what he would c bet multiway but then check on the turn. It doesn't make much sense. I wonder if villain would expect you to have 3 bet AK AQ vs the min raise open?, if not then I guess he might check KQ on the turn.

As played I'm always paranoid about making these bluffs last to act closing the hand. Here I feel he has a ton of bluff catchers that he won't want to let go given the action.

Interested to hear what other players have to say on this one.

Pre and flop are good.

Villain's line is really odd. His flop bet into 2 players is huge and then he seemingly goes into give up mode on the turn when many of his hands should improve or not really care about the ace (sets).

I'd check back the turn as well. It's a card that should be really good for villain overall and not good for you at all other than for 4 combos of JTs.

On the river definitely bet. I'm not sure what size I would want to use. On one hand I don't expect villain to have many sets or 2 pairs so I'd expect a small bet to work at a reasonable frequency. On the other hand when you can have the nuts and villain presumably can't then overbet shoving seems really attractive.

We rep A10 and J10 pretty well so I think this is totally fine. Also 910s is in our range and we block that combo so I think this is a nice spot.

You got no choice but to bluff with this hand as you have no chance of winning if you check/behind. As for the sizing, i would go big to polarize our range.

I agree with other folks. I think that you played the hand really well and you have to bet that river given villain's line.

We realy have the odds calling otf when villian bets 9 in 11 with our dominated naked fd ?as played a river bluff is perfect . onf i dont like it , you basicaly pray to hit your flush and this is not ok
