NL50-TT-HEADS UP

I feel like I made a pretty bad play today that fortunately worked out, but I don't want to be results orientated. I can justify reasons for and against my line. Info on villain is important for this hand as I read him as tilting. I had just played the last three hands in a row with him (this was on Zoom). All three hands were big pots relative to the blinds and he folded to river bets on all three, but was in the tank on all three. Hence I thought he might be a little tilted, and thought of me as a super aggressive, spewy type player.

Effective stack $60. Blinds 0.25/0.5 (cash game). Hero: BB, Villain D/SB
Pre flop:
He min raises to $1 and I three bet with tens to $3.50. I normally go $3 but I thought he might make a tilting call, so I went for more value. He then three bets to $9 and I elect to call.
Reasons I made the call: I figured there was a significant chance he had air and I wanted to allow him to keep bluffing post flop. Also if I 5 bet to get it in, he fold most of his bluffs and the range I get it in against likely has me dominated. I considered raising to $20, allowing him to shove over top with his air, but this seemed too optimistic.
Reasons I don't like the call: If the board comes two overs, he can keep barreling with his bluffs and I will likely have to fold to a flop or turn bet.
Flop:
Flop was 763
Good flop for me. I check to him expecting him to bet. I was planning to check raise, either all in or to $25 (and then shove all turns). However, I'm not sure whether this would be the best play as it folds out all his bluffs and I don't have a super equity against the hands that call. Even if I give him a range with plenty of draws, I only have ~43% equity with the hands that give my check raise action. Hence I think a check call, check shove the turn might be better play, to keep his bluffs in the hand. But he may not double barrel his air, hence I might only be shoving over a range better than TT.
However he checks back, to my surprise. I think at this stage, he likely has not much and is giving up. He can still possibly have good hands and is checking to induce a bet from me on the turn
Turn:
The turn comes the 2 completing the flush, but I think if he had it he would have semi-bluffed the flop.
I bet $11.49 into a touch under $18 (2/3 pot) for value. I don't want to give him another free card with his overs and I need to start getting some value. He calls
River
The river comes the A which I think is a terrible card as it completes a heap of his hands.
There's $41 in the pot and I have $39 behind. I check he shoves. I take my time and call
Reasons I made the call: There's still a heap of draws that missed and when I check, I almost turn my hand face up. The Ace is a good card for him to bluff on and I decided, that he has enough bluffs to make the call getting 2:1, so I call.
Bluffs he can have: 89, 58, KT-KQ with a spade, QT-QJ with a spade, JT with a spade, 9T with a spade, 44 or 55. He could also be over playing top pair or turning a pair of sixes into a bluff.
Reasons I don't like the call: There's still a significant amount of hands that can beat me
He shows 98 for a missed straight draw. This means all my reads were right, but are they right in the long run?
