Playing a set OOP when the flush card turns - 25NL ZOOM

Posted 7 years ago

Villain is unknown. So in these spots villains range includes Ax, flush draws, maybe Jx if hes really bad. Do you like to keep betting until raised? I can't see myself wanting to check raise at all as we only (mostly) only get value from better.

What if the board is J high , does that make us less likely to triple ?

I'd be slowing down on the turn because we don't really beat too much know, I expect a lot of Ax without a flush draw to fold, only AJ to carry on that we beat.

River seems thin for that sizing, hard to see what calls us asides from AJ if they are really fishy.

bet bet bet a lot of their range on the flop is AX some % of which is A with a diamond. Jx is unrealistic. Some flush draws sure but they opened from EP so I would weigh in a lot more bigger AX than 2 diamonds here. Check raising turn is not an option. Turn goes Check Check a lot and they get cheap showdown or opportunity to suck out and you don't have flushes here when you check.

I am unsure about your J high question? If the board is J46ddx and you check raise and they call I would continue betting as now they have QQ+ as well as some AJ KJ. Tailor river sizing to their range to get a profitable call.

Well played. The flush card is actually not that relevant. While villain will obviously have some flushes in his range the fact that he/she open raised from MP and there's an A already on the board makes the number of possible flush combinations relatively low.

WP. Like Matt said he has very few flush combos. More combos of AJ than flush. We for sure want to bet the turn bc otherwise we would let him realize to much EQ for free.
