So I'm attempting the transition from NLH to PLO and some Tournament volume, may do a blog on this in the new year but for now I'll post the hands I'm struggling with and or find interesting here.

First off I have a feeling this is too light of a call IP, were going to run into trouble on a lot of boards where our straight and flush draws will be nutted, we do have the button however.

Flop CB seems pretty standard even into 3 players, we can peel the flop with position if we do get check raised, although jamming would be an option depending maybe on the potion of the check raiser and assumed range.

I check back turn here thinking sb can have some AKQx, AKds combos etc so best to pot control.

River we obv have to call any bet, if were checked to do we bet to get value from 2 pair or are we too concerned about QQ, AK combos that will check jam as we are now capped?

you are right. Flatting this pre is little light but you are on the BTN so it's not the end of the world. Flop is fine but i think I would bet little bigger. On the turn I would just bet again. He will almost never bluff raise you so u can comfortably bet for value and protection (since any card 8 or higher doesnt do u any good). If he happens to have AK u will lose same amount anyway. Think about it. If he checks and u check back on the turn now he is betting river and u have to call and u lose same amount. So its fine to bet/fold here. Also u will be suprised how many times they will call u with 2 pair OOP in this kind of spot Smile

" if were checked to do we bet to get value from 2 pair or are we too concerned about QQ, AK combos that will check jam as we are now capped?" you will much easire get value from 2 pair on the turn plus u are protecting your hand by betting turn. On the river i think i would just check back as played. I dont expect to get called by JT** or QJ** and similar 2 pair since river was a 3. Maybe AA** or KK** will call u but is very unlikely he wll have those. So he is calling with bigger str and raising with FH.

Agree with @trinity25 Betting the turn for value is the best. Not that afraid of him having AK and not many K9 when we have 99. And you will loose one bet vs that no matter how you play it. Not expexting to get bluff raised very often at all but defo called by some 2pairs and sets.

PF call is pretty marginal and I'd just fold, but if you're confident you can outplay people then it makes it ok.

I would be checking back this flop, exactly because of situations like this. You can't get 2 streets of value out of this ass str8, and it's a board that connects pretty well with an MP raising range AND the SB's flatting range. Ton's of wraps that dominate yours, 2 pairs, overpair+gutter type hands in these ranges and you are not doing well against any of those.

Given you bet the flop, I would bet turn and check river.
