QQ flops a set deep on monotone flop and faces a small cbet

Posted 7 years ago

Villain is a fish. He's not overly aggressive but as you can tell, has some big problems sizing his bets well.

£20nl on Sky.

I have £41
Villain has £36

UTG limps £0.20
I iso to £0.80
Villain in SB 3bets to £1.70
UTG calls
I call

Flop £5.60

Q92 mono

Villain cbets £2.00
UTG folds
I call

Turn £9.60

9 off suit

Villain bets £2
I ????

I think I need to raise here for value and to protect against/charge draws but what size to? Given we're still plenty deep, are we raise/snapping a jam? Are we raise/crying? Is there an argument for just calling?

If he had bet much bigger, say £7, are we jamming for value? Continuing to trap/pot control?

Raise here, if he hero folds AA so be it he probably wasn't paying us off much on the river anyways.

VS the times we stack his over pairs flushes and get called by his flush draws.

I'd go £8, should leave him pot left behind. Then jam or bet small depending on the oppoennt by the river.

Given how deep stacks are we need to raise the turn to get stacks in by the river. Not sure why we would be crying if the shove over the top, we have the 2nd nuts. Anywhere between £6-8 is fine to raise.

We're a long way from the second nuts but I take your point Smile

I think we have a much better chance of playing for stacks if we raise the flop. If he has an overpair, esp w FD, we'll def gii. And if he has random garbage, well his bluffs don't really net us much money anyway. His flop cbet certainly looks like he has nothing, but his sizing also tells us he isn't going to gii without our help.

Perhaps theres a error in the HH as it does look like you have the 2nd nuts.A set of Queens on that board neans we lose to 99 only. Obviously an issue with HH.

My mistake, the board didn't pair the turn. It was an off suit non pairing card.

Many apologies.

GTO prospective you want to be defending your checking range her a lot so slow playing fine, until we starts betting small then we're not protecting our hand or getting value, so raise turn, value bet riv. If we get raised it's likely a flush if he's a good player at 20nl so you could acutall hero fold at that point.
