Jef147: Do you have to pay for the stream?

Normally on Twitch you have to subscribe to watch past steams - costs $4.99 a month

I watched the last bit live which was free but as john said replays cost

I know he is $17 in the hole from his first session...not great at nl2 with a 50BI Br

Thanks people! Yeah he said in the build up that he wasn't going to start on cash! He planned on doing $1 mtts and sit n gos! I really don't think it would be easy for somebody like him to beat 2nl! Most of his skill will be wasted as villain will not even know what he is trying to rep/do!

Lets hope he turns it around!

I hope he does turn it around too and bink something early, for the sake of the excitement of the challenge. One thing I do wonder, is how a guy that plays nose bleeds is able to adapt to these games. He's obviously smart so maybe when he figures the games out he'll start to really crush.

Love how people are questioning if he can beat these games. Sure he played high stakes but the people playing these stakes are going to be the easiest to beat. He will do fine I'm sure. If he losses it will be down to not focusing properly given how low the stakes are.

Yeh of course he's going to be beating these games comfortably. That being said, I saw him make a few plays that I think are going to be -EV which he probably won't be making when he gets a bit more familiar with how they play so I do think there will probably be a short transition stage before he is playing his best at these limits.

Spot on Ferg! I saw a bit of his 2nl this morning and some of the shoves he was attempting to throw people off hands just wasn't working. He even said himself at one point that it's tough to get people to fold at those stakes. In a day or so I have no doubt he will have worked out how to beat them.

It was quite strange seeing him sat at the tables with $2.29 and $2.02!

I just can't seem to get behind this. I find watching Doug play these stakes incredibly boring and he is not exactly going to go into strat talk mode throughout so there is nothing entertaining there either.

I think it is always great to see the best at what they do show that everything is possible for anyone but this doesn't seem to be the way to do it. It is also confusing that this is Doug Polk and not UpswingPoker which is his....TRAINING SITE. You know if they were doing this to get new paying members and people subscribing to that site it would make a bit more sense but even then doing it this way does not - why not just do some incredible coaching videos or part series going in depth into the strat to really show how an average person can climb the stakes?

I think for me it is all just that the excitement has gone from when Doug started out. Finally a high stakes pro really living this life and playing the high stakes was going to show it all and just let it rip. The high stakes heads up on Stars and the SCOOP wins were epic but then all of a sudden he is grinding 2nl just like the other 10000000000x people are doing and for no great reason at all.

I'm not questioning his ability to beat them, I'm just saying it'll be an interesting watch to see someone from the high stakes play the games and adapt.

But that was also one thing you mentioned, I think the yolo factor of playing so low and it feeling like joke stakes might have some affect. The frustration of it being such small amounts building up slowly.

Yes I have not seen anybody question if he can beat these stakes! Simply mentioning whether he can face the monotony of playing simple ABC poker which is pretty much what it takes at 2nl!

Don't watch him then?

He asked his fans what they wanted to see, they answered $100 - $10,000 so he is pleasing the people who are engaging with him.

He said himself his motivation came from his 400bi at 25nl in a month challenge and he loves the opportunity to show what is possible.

In a couple weeks he will hopefully be playing like 20/50nl. That will be massively helpful for loads of players playing those limits.
