Party Poker Bankroll Challenge

Posted 7 years ago

Hey folks,

I've been meaning to make this thread for the last couple of weeks but due to my inherently procrastinatory (yeh I made that word up) attitude towards life I'm only getting around to it now.

The goal of this thread is to track my progress throughout the Party Poker Summer of Grind promo and show how a bankroll can still be build from the micro stakes. I'll be taking full advantage of all available offers to me during this which are as follows:

1) First deposit bonus on PP for $500, this is matched by the site and unlocked in increments of $100 at a rakeback rate of 20%

2) Summer of Grind promotion - I'm sure you are all aware of this by this stage but if not just to give a quick rundown of it. After I play 30k hands I get a $150 bankroll boost. After 60k hands you get an additional $150. After 100k hands you get an additional $300. After 250k hands you get an additional $900.

3) Standard PP rakeback which I believe works out at 30% for the max loyalty tier but I do not know what it is for the lower tier.

My goals are to hit the 60k hands mark at 10NL before the end of the promo, unfortunately I just won't have the time to hit the higher milestones.

I've been only playing a reasonably small amount, I'm currently approximately 6k hands in and I have been losing. My initial session was an attempt at four tabling the fast forward games which I have now worked out that I won't be able to do profitably, I dropped somewhere in the region of $65/70 over 3-3.5k hands. Going forward I'll be dropping down to my usual 2 tables for the remainder of the challenge. I've recouped some of my losses since that initial disaster and the BR is currently sitting at ~$460.

I'll be streaming some of my progress at my Twitch channel - www.twitch.tv/fergb12345 if anyone wants to come check it out live.

I'll post here later on with my up to date exact results and graphs!

In.

Good luck, see you on there!

Looking forward to this and some good news. The rake back level % are 7.5% - 22% and 30.2%. Don't think is possible to get to the 30% without seriously massive volume for stakes below 50nl. If I'm not mistaken the deposit bonus clears in $50 increments but that's neither here nor there.

I definitely recommend using party caption, if you are using windows. Its free for 10nl and below. If you are interested send me a message and I can send a file with all the presets so you can just get to playing.

Got in another 500 hands in a quick post-football session before I went to bed. Really happy with how I played here, didn't make much but definitely lost the least in a few key spots. Currently down a little over 4 buy ins, running nearly 2 buyins below EV after a little over 6k hands. As the pool is full of 4 tabling grinders I'm starting to get some nice reads on the regs which is awesome. I'm still annoyed with myself for not ending my initial session earlier and realising that I'm just not cut out for 4 tabling sooner!!

Also @MDC, you are correct. The bonus clears in $50 increments, not $100! I'm currently 25% of the way towards unlocking the first one so earned $12.50 there and another $30 with the Summer of Grind so far so including bonuses I am theoretically in profit Laugh

Followed Smile

I reallllly wanna get going on Party again but waiting to hear back from VIP support about my expired signup deal.

You can't use a HUD for Fast Forward on Mac though Sad Bit of a disadvantage! Do you think this would be a big issue seeing as so many decent grinders are in the pool for the promotion?

Nah it wouldn't be a big issue IMO, it'll be a bit of a disadvantage obviously but the game is going to be very beatable HUDless as well.

How do you find the opposition compared to Stars? Much softer?

I completely agree about Windows when it comes to Poker Sad I have to use Mac for my job =/

Honestly I haven't noticed much difference in the standard of play. For the most part it's super nitty, I'm guessing they have had a massive influx of multitabling nits as a result of this promo. I think people seriously over-estimate the standard of play at Stars in general though.

Played another super short session before heading to bed. Strung a bit of run good together and won just under 2 buy ins in 350 hands. Ran 1BI ahead of EV after getting all the money in as 60-70% favorites and holding both times. I was +$30 but spewed away a little over a stack via some...questionable decisions. Felt myself getting pretty sleepy then so decided to cut the session short. After todays positive session we are inching closer and closer to the that magical place, I can hear the Gods whispering in my ear. *eeevvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnn*

Starting Bankroll - $500
Current Bankroll - $477.84

Another short session squeezed in today, only managed to get another 350 hands in prior to the wife arriving home so I had to end it a little earlier than I would have liked. The run good was real this session......

Racked up another 1k hands today, after a dreadful start and losing $35 dollars in less than 300 hands I decided to move up to 25NL where they respect my raises and managed to claw back my losses. We were up $50 at one point but then manages to spew off a couple of stacks and booked a break even session.

Starting BR - $500
Current BR - $552.03
Hands Played - 11900
