Blocker

Is a card we hold that would be an out for our opponent, or that make it unlikely for him to have a certain hand. For example, if we are holding pocket nines, our often will not be holding a nine for often that not. A frequent case of taking advantage of a blocker, is when there are are three cards of a same suit after the river on a non-paired board and we hold the Ace of that suit, that’s a good situation to execute a bluff because we know our opponent does not have the nuts.
