Family pot

The term "family pot" generally has nothing to do with family members. It means, instead, that most, if not all, of the other players are staying in the game. In other words, not folding. There is an upside and a downside to being involved in a family pot game. The upside is that these games can be a lot of fun, and the size of the pot can grow significantly as there are more people putting their money into the pot. The downside is that because there are so many people playing, the chances your opponents may draw a strong hand are also increased.
