I was living in Swansea before doing my MSc which is when I stopped playing to focus on my studies. Never really played much live poker, just some home games every now and then. I'd like to play live but need to put some more time into getting better before getting my feet wet but sounds really good though!

yeah man, for my 2 cents main diff is way higher SPRs and virtually no push/fold decisions as opposed to tournament poker. You are NOT going to the wall with tptk, lol !
Maybe start with some half-stack or 60 bb stack, and see what the pot sizes and spr,s are in unraised and also 3bet pots and you will be getting it in by the turn I think if you can.
You can grind it out ! Give yourself plenty of bi,s with your br.

Names Ian from the UK, i am 33 and have only just found poker in the last 9 months......absolutely hooked.

I am only playing NLH at the moment and primarily grinding up the 10nl micro stakes cash games 4 tabling at present. Initially had a dabble at SNG and MTT but prefer the cash games so sticking with that at the moment, just trying to walk before I run.

Reading and studying poker a lot whilst trying to put in as much time as possible online, working full time and keeping in my misses good books.

I don't have any friends that take poker seriously so really looking to continue studying but also start sharing hand analysis with a goal of goal of gaining a better understanding of poker plays and take this hobby to the next level.

How did you find poker? For most of us it was the Moneymaker boom so i always wonder how someone comes across it nowadays?

Hi, I had always joined friends for a game on a Saturday night but I was the one who always had to have the hand chart next to them so I knew what beat what. Then one afternoon I was watching youtube and came across poker videos of Tom Dwan, Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, Patrick Antonius, the ones that come up time and time again and realised people were making a genuine living out of it. From that moment I was hooked and spend most of my spare time reading articles or watching videos. I have enjoyed watching the short films of Pokerstars pro's and hearing how they got into poker.

Since getting into poker I have learnt of the Moneymaker boom and the effect he has had on the industry, what an amazing story. I sometimes watch him play on stars.

I was wondering, are most people on here professional or are there lots like me, someone working full time and grinding in their spare time?
