Here is another session playing the cash games, the next few videos will be of me grinding a tourney. We start the session with a BR of 127.15 Euros.

Things are starting pretty steady and in the right direction and the games are pretty soft.

I've now made some thumbnails for my vids to make them stand out a bit more and look more obvious for the future in my channel from other videos outside the Quest. Also probably helps it look a bit sleeker in general.

Also if any guys have any tips on how build a few followers, or at least for me to get involved in the community of people on YT then all will be welcome. I'm not posting on YouTube for the sake of getting a big channel. It's purely because doing something like this where people can watch along and join in really makes the whole thing a lot more fun for me. I'm not very experienced at this kind of stuff so any help is welcome. I'll be getting a new webcam in the future so the whole thing is a bit more personally interactive. Anyway, thanks in advance if anyone does have any tips.

I guess I'll be posting the 1st part of the tournament up now Muscle

Before I leave my house for a couple of days when I won't get to play. I thought I'd post up the rest of the tourney.

Having a good time right now playing!

Hey guys, had a fun night last night. Played in the local pub tourney again (always a laugh).
It's mainly a social night but not bad when it doesn't cost you much from cashing. Came 3rd overall after final tabling with the big stack.
That makes 7 top 3 cashes out of the last 8 tourneys I've played, live or online. All MTT.

As I said, the live stuff is only a bit of fun and casual but might start getting into the MTTs again whilst mostly playing cash overall.

Work tonight though, and tomorrow a gig in our favourite venue with lots of friends coming as usual.

Last time we were there it was for a few drinkies to watch another band. We don't get enough chance to do those things, but ended up with a couple of on the house Sex on the Beaches. The percs of being mates with the manager huh WinkBeer

Anyway, gotta get ready now and earn some normal money.

GL all!

Where in the UK are you from?

Well played in that tourney! However I think the K10 is a call near the end, the way he had been playing

Hey @AshVIP (also Killjoy?).

Cheers for watching along.

Thanks Smile Yeah maybe, I'll have to have a look over. It was pretty close I guess.

I'm from Chester in the Northwest. I've silently been following along your live thread too. I'll be making sure to get involved!

How you find the casino tournaments in general? I've never actually played any yet but planning to get down to Liverpool at some point very soon for one.
Posted 7 years ago
I realised @AshVIP you added me on facebook a while back. (I'm Daniel Campbell) pretty sure it's you anyway.

Ohh yes! And I asked as could tell it was a local accent!

You should deffo, or my local G in Didsbury, it's just off the M56 in south Manchester so pretty accessible from Chester (assuming you drive).

Casino tournaments are pretty soft, some bad bad regs, the Liverpool afternoon one is just, like, bad. For example, guy limps UTG at 200/400. I raise to 2000 with QQ (he has a 10k stack). He calls. Flop is 1072. He bets I jam he calls and has 107off... that's just a standard limp-call which is very common but is how I've built big stacks in that comp! Another player calling a 22k shove with 52off... from around a 60k stack... coldcalling a 3bet jam of 15k with 64...

the players just dont fold, limp call limp call limp call no matter how much you bet. So best not to try and bluff and just go for max value when you do have it!

Yeah sounds about right for live play. The funny thing about the tournaments I've played are that there are people who just tell me that they won't call off any jam with 'Ace rag' even when it's BVB and they have like 7BBs. So I sit there shoving my K7s, Q9s etc and they just constantly fold the best hand pre because they hate crappy aces. They think they're playing a good tight game by doing that and just don't get the situations at all. Lot#s of people just blatantly tell you stuff they shouldn't and it's great. (Providing you don't tell them their mistakes haha).

On the other hand as you said most players just limp and call huge raises with shite. Lot's have superstitions and monsters under the bed etc. It's crazy really, but hey... it's why we play isn't it.

Hey guys!

Had a weekend of work and gigging, and a bit of poker tonight. An evening by myself where I just had a bit of a grind and played a great value freeroll (which is basically like playing a 3e tourney for free. 500e+ up top). Didn't cash though but I'll be looking to play it every week whenever I'm free to.

Gig was fun last night, and I'm just gonna chill now. Although knowing me, I'll end up playing again later because I can't hold back haha.

Anyway here is the latest vid of my journey, was from a couple of days back, but it's an interesting cash session. I'm a bit more ballsy these days than I used to be, but then hopefully that's a good thing. I just concern myself more with doing what I feel is right rather than being worried about losing.

GL all!

Any vids of you gigging?

Made a couple more vids today which I will post soon enough.

Made the 1st 'Milestone' I guess of doubling the BR today for 200.42e. It's been around 2 weeks or so of starting but I've not had a lot of time to play so I'm pretty pleased within this time-frame.

I might be taking a 10nl shot at 220e, it's a fairly aggressive strategy but not so much because I'll only be using a 2BI stoploss before I move back down. I might decide to not take a shot depending on how I'm feeling and how games look at the time though, but we'll see.

I just thought I'd post this because I'm sure some people might just wanna see how I'm getting on without watching the vids and stuff. So this post is for you.

@AshVIP I'll find some YouTube stuff of the band and link you, we don't have much in the way of live vids, but we have some recordings that we use for venues or clients to hear us before they book us.

Anyway, bed time now.

GL you lot!

Epic thread! Congratulations on the early results. I'm also interested in some of the gig videos you might have. Even though I'm about to say goodbye to my twenties joining a band/playing music to a live audience is still on my bucket list and I wouldn't mind some inspiration from a fellow poker player Smile
Posted 7 years ago*
Cheers @MattVIP I might PM you and @AshVIP some vid links if you like. We're a cover band that does Pub/Club/Weddings/Birthdays etc. Maybe in the future we'll get our own stuff but right now it's about having some fun and making money doing said fun stuff Party

I said goodbye to my twenties this March, it ain't so bad, except when the better half keeps reminding me that I'm an old man, ah well... with age comes wisdom I say, right? Wink

As for the poker, battling it around around the 200e mark still, I have a few vids to post, don't wanna get too much of a back log. But I'm having a blast.
Yesterday was real swingy, down a few buyins and then back to just under BE. After starting out about 1.5 up. In all honesty though I don't think I played my A+ game all the time but also a lot of fishy guys got to the river with weird hands and hit random 2 pairs vs my TPTK type stuff on dry boards. Happened a lot, but just one of those days. Much fun was still had.

So will probably not be able to play as much in the next few days, was hoping to be able to move up before the MPN Festival of Speed kicks in on the 8th, but doesn't look too likely right now. I'm not interesting in rushing anything, but those Blaze Cannon tables are a gold mine.

Ok all, seeya later, I'm off!

Yeah send me some mate! Looks like we are pretty much exactly the same age as well! Sucks being 29 yesterday Sad

So I am a useless idiot and have missed this!

But gotta say I love it and am going to be running some bankroll building promos myself soon and this has got me super hungry to do it! Think adding tournis in was a must and makes it really fun. I always said if playing cash load up a tourni alongside it....it is +ev just profit wise but also just the fact that it keeps you playing longer.

@AshVIP You were 29 yesterday? Happy Birthday in that case hah!

Unless I'm mistaken there. Doing anything fun for the celebration?

Jon-PokerVIP: what is your...

Hey mate, hah no worries. Yeah the only issue for me for tournies is having a full evening to play them lately, but I'll defo be playing more.

My 3 bet size in position is generally 3x if opened to 3x, if someone opens min then I tend to 3.5x their raise.
Oop I stick an extra blind or so on top of that, if it's HU. But lately I see a lot of people 4x ing it oop so been trying it out a little. Just seems something I see a lot lately as the game progresses a bit. Maybe because more people are flatting IP these days I dunno.
