are you playing FR or 6max ...either way you are playing pretty nitty. positional stats will be a lot more help. in hem if you go reports-> more reports it will bring up a list of reports . select either FR position if you play full ring or position if you play 6max and post those reports.

A sweat session is when someone watches you play and comments /discusses situations that come up as you are playing. it can help spot leaks . looking atthe stats you have posted with an overall vpip/pfr at 13/8 you are calling preflop an awfull lot. At least 1/3 of the time . Are you calling with marginal hands , set mining incorrectly, calling instead of folding etc
you seem to be playing too tight on the button , could possibly be 3betting more, aggression factor seems low , are you cbetting enough?
Posted 10 years ago
Is he c betting enough? He's at like 76% unless its 2006 I'd say he could chill out on C betting. Viper, why do we c bet? We want to fold out better hands or get called by worse. At nl5 especially I'd say you ought to sort of polarize ur C bets but only bet air that has some chance to improve. Then c bet for value. But u don't need to bet every heads up flop. Eg; you are in big blind w/ QQ and bttn raises sb folds u 3 bet and bttn calls. Flop; A2r. Are u betting flop?
Are u bluffing or value betting? How many streets will u be betting if called?
Don't c bet just to do it, people c bet SUPER exploitably IMHO. At a lot higher stakes than nl5 even. What you really need to learn is there are very few solid rules of thumb and u need to just get in the habit of asking what a bet accomplishes and really thinking thru all hands one decision point at a time.
A sweat session may be someone just watching u play saying"why did u do that?" Every single time u take an option....good luck 2 u

Ok. Here are my stats by position. I play Full Ring. I've played some hands at 6max but I prefer full ring for the moment.

I usually CB a lot in the flop when I was the aggressor preflop. Now... I realise I usually CB automatically without a plan. The problem is I don't understand what play should I be thinking on. If I have AKoff and raise preflop and get called by SB, for example. Flop comes 10 J 2 rainbow. I would usually CBET in that kind of flop. And If I get 3bet? Well, I usually take a lookt at villain stats about 3bet etc and take a decision according to that. Sometimes I will call, sometimes I will 4bet and if I get 5bet I fold, etc.

Navonod: In the example you mentiones about me having QQ, in that case where flop comes A2r, I would CBET no matter the As. If I get called I would probably check on turn and if villain bets maybe I'll call if his bet is't too big. I bluff on rarely occassions at this limit and If I do, I would probably do it agains a nit player.

If I get called, I would bet maximum 2 barrels (I mean, up to the turn). I almost never shoot three barrels becuase I understand it is not a profitable movement in micro stakes.

I have no knowledge about those rules of thumb. I consider however I try to make solid decisions but sometimes I play prettey automatically.

I see I have trouble when I get 3bets, maybe I call too much with hands like suited connector or low pair so as to try to mine set (I try to mine set if villain has a considerable stack).

I get a lot of trouble when I have a premium hand like AA or KK and continue betting at flop and get a 3bet. I have no way of escaping against a set with those hands. I usually end all in which sucks.

I don't know... I probably have many leaks. I am currently playing at 15 tables. I started playing at 6 and then added more until 15. I feel pretty comfortable playing 15 multi table but maybe I realise I'm not making solid decision playing at so many tables.

In my rush to play a lot of hands and try to reach a big number of hands played in order to reach that "long term", maybe I'm giving away my best poker, right? What do you think?

Guys, thanks for your help. Its very valuable to me. I'd love to have a sweat session. Let me know how would the procedure be and we can make it =)

Hey Viper, send me an inbox on here and I can add you on skype then through some software I can watch your screen as you play and pick some leaks. I've been playing properly for about a year and did my time at 5nl so should be able to help you out a lot Smile
Also in your last post some lil things 1- never fold to a 5bet when we 4bet pre with AK pre we have too good odds to fold v villains range of JJ+AQs. 2) 3 barrelling is super good v calling stations. 3) bluffing nits is bad as they often have it as they are tight. 4) If you are struggling then play 6 tables max don't increase volume as you will miss out on value make rushed decisions and tilt easier and then lose more when you tilt.

Ok!

1) Good point.
2) I meant I don't 3 barrel when I have not connected anything. I usually 3barrel if at least I have top pair.
3) ok!
4) I will decrease the ammount of tables!

There's something I don't get. I consider I'm not that nit. I play a wide variety of ranges. I'm not a player who only plays pairs and premium hands. I also play suited connectors and other type of hands. And I find it hard to reach a higher VPIP and PFR. When I play too loose I have a tough time facing 3bets and what to do when I don't hit anything at the flop.

your 3 barrel answer could be a problem. are you considering your opponents tendencies i.e triple barreling a nit with top pair is likely to be burning money as they are likely only calling the second barrel with more than top pair.

also , what are you limping in early position? your playing tight as it is ,if you are limp calling pre from early position and hit your set and start raising , to any thinking opponent you are telegraphing the fact that you hit your set so you don't get value for it because they fold and because the initial pot size is smaller.

You also have a big gap in your vpip pfr in the blinds, fold to steals more and 3bet the steals more. and call them a lot less.

as for number of tables , your results just show that you can click a mouse button quickly , not that you can play lots of tables well.take the time to think about your plays, how you typical opponents play their hands. Do you take notes, if not why not? if you don't ,do you go through showdown hands post session and make notes about how your regular villains play and make notes in your hud. then when you have decisions to make at the table you can look at a brief outline of that player and have an idea what he has and make a more informed decision.

I played three sessions today. I reduced the number of tables. First session played 6 tables. Second session played half 6 and half 10. And third session played 10 tables.

Each session was around 1h playing. I understood the fact that I had a gap between my VPIP and my PRF. I was limping and calling raises too much. So I started to raise more and 3bet more.

Reducing the number of tables allowed me to focus on making more solid decisions.

Here are today's graphs and statistics.

However, I found myself in some situations where I didn't know much what to do. I will post them on the following posts.

Posted 10 years ago
In this situation I got a lucky flop. But despite that, I always wonder what to do with these hands.

There's a limper at UTG+1. MP2 raises to 3bb. He's a very loose player (38/20 in 67hands). I decided only to call becuase If I 3bet I would not be able to stand a 4bet. And there were still the blinds to make a decision and the limper.

After the flop I had no trouble.

This is a hand I played pretty bad. I get sometimes stuck in these kind of situations. I must say I never call with AJ a preflop all in. But I thought his squeeze was probably a bluff.
Either way I know my play here sucks. I only post this so as to show sometimes I do stupid things.

Villain has a VPIP of 17 and PFR of 12. Has a 3bet of 3,6, ALL from BB and a squeeze of 11%. However sample is too small so as to consider squeeze factor.

This is a tough situation form me generally speaking. I know JJ isn't that strong. But this generally happens to me also when I have QQ, KK or AA. Villain hitting his set. He was VPIP 19 and PFR 15. Don't know what other relevant stat to mention. His 3bet is of 2,2. Given the case I only called his 3bet, would that have been much of a difference in the way of playing the hand and the final all in result?

Here I only called. Player is pretty tight. He has a PFR of 8%. So I didn't 3bet because I guessed I would have to fold to a 4bet (he probably would have KK or AA or QQ). But now that I'm writing this I see my play is ridiculous.

However, le't suppose I did 3bet there and villain only called. Wouldn't I be completely lost after that flop?

Well, I have more hands I could post but I don't want to fill this with all my hands and get you bored! Thanks if you read all this!!

Hope to go on learning! I realise there are many many things I still need to learn. Will focus on studying a lot the following days.
Posted 10 years ago
hey buddy! i would say for hands put them individually in the strategy forum then they are easier to follow and multiple members can reply to.
Posted 10 years ago
45s i might fold pre incase utg reraises. not sure how much you can win long term flatting this. 3betting is probably a better option.
Ajs i might fold pre or peal. seems like an uber nit and feel like were just getting it in super bad here. nice run out tho!
JJ - raise more pre. then postflop is fine
AA - is 4x utg standard in full ring? Postflop play seems solid wp
66- can probs flat the open in position. when he 4bets you kinda have to peal. solid fold postflop
AK- really nice wp
Posted 10 years ago
Ok Jon! The following hands I will post them on that section.
Thx for your feedback. I don't like the way I played most of those hands. 45s was luck but anyways I think It's not that bad to call there since I have position, etc. But well... I'm the newbie here.
Posted 10 years ago
This is today's morning session. 2hs in 10 tables, NL5 as usual. I tried to be more aggressive and I think I am being in fact, but anyways my VPIP was of 10 and my PFR of 8. How come? I'm not being that NIT. I raise with a huge variety of hands. But well... I haven't defenden my blinds at all in this session. I'm getting a little scared of that situation. I think I 3bet once from BB successfully, the rest of the time I didn't even try.

I have a good non-showdown line here. I was all session in a negative score. However my EV Net Won was close to being even or even positive in some ocasions. That's because I had a couple of bad beats to some fishes. I also lost a set to a bigger set. Well,,, variance. What to say.

I was about to close session but stayed only in two tables where there were two major fishes. Finally a good hand came and closed session with a positive score and positive EV.

I just post the hand here but not for analysis purposes.

nice pot with the KK !!
Posted 10 years ago
You're stats are nitty becasue you are 10 tabling. Stay at 6 you will improve a lot more. When you pump up volume like this you don't try to win small pots as you always seem to have a bigger one that seems more important.
Posted 10 years ago
Nice observation, Stewie. That's true. Well, I will stay at 6 then. It's a little bit more boring but well... =(
