Hey, guys! Thx for posting! Since my return, I haven't played many hands but results have been good. However Im trying not to focus on results. I understand I gotta build a castle and before I was building a castle of cards. Trying to build it of bricks now.

It has been very positive to me to stay out of poker these months. Even though poker was in my head all the time, I knew I just couldnt play. Wasnt in the mood. And now I feel motivated again. I am enjoying the game again and that is so great about it.

I know im just playing fucking NL5 for the moment but better to not quit than quit at all.

I believe Im taking good decisions. I know, as usual, I have a lot to study and impove. But well, let's do it again!

My graph so far, not to brag but at least so as to post some image:

So far so good. My firts month after comeback. Volume is low, I know. But I've been focusing on enjoying when I play.
Something to underline: concentration. I realise so much how different I play when I'm not concentrated than when I am.

And always asking myself, even though the question might take me a second or a few more to answer, why? why why why? Why bet, whey check? Why bet river or check?

Might seem basic but does make a difference.

What's up guys? Looong time no see! I gotta admit I couldn't make it. Poker is a tough game. Sometimes beautiful, sometimes boring.
No matter the excuses, I could never reach the level of play I would've wanted.

Probably there are guys who have more skills but I believe that as in everything in life, it is a matter of discipline.

However, I have been working in my passion all this time, and that is chess.. After 7 years of inactivity, I'm back to that wonderful game and Im really enjoying it.

But something is always in my mind as well and that is poker. Because deep in my heart I can't stand the idea that I couldnt become a better player than I was. And I still like this game and I still think that If I could fight against my lazyness of not studying, maybe I could at least beat the levels I couldnt.

But the question I want to ask is: is this shit even still possible? The player pool is tough, sites as PS have cut a lot of rakeback. Seems really tough to make it these days and it even looks like tourntaments might be the best option.

Any opinions? Is it still possible to beat the micros and make at least a positive number no matter the rakeback?

Yes it is still possible, there is no doubt about it. It's not as easy as it used to be but here are still a lot of bad players giving their money away, if you put in the work it is very doable to achieve a very good pre-rakeback winrate.

100% still possible and IMO it comes down to doing everything as smart as possible. I mentioned to you back in the day a fair few times you should play on different sites and it is not just down to the softness! You have to be able to

- Get good deposit bonuses
- Get good rb
- Rake races
- Reloads
- Soft games.

Improve whilst earning more than the site you are on type thing. I know you did change sites in the end but still super important.

Hey Jon! at the end of the day I used to stay in PS mainly because of traffic. Remember I live in Argentina and the sites you recommend have low traffic of players during the hours I usually play.
However, I should probably try again and see.

So which ones do you recommend?

And by the way... I'm a little stubborn. But in the end I'm flexible too =)

Well at the same time playing 2 tables on a quiet site might be better than 4 on a busy one...you know more time to concentrate, improve and win easier money. People can be profitable one tabling and losing players at 4 so that is something to think about.

What games are you wanting to play?

cash, NLHE
