Second that. Snagit is a great tool I use it all the time. It's pretty easy to get hold of a cracked full version too. Not that I condone that sort of thing Wink

Hey guys! I am away at a lodge in the woods this weekend so no poker! Just hot tubs and alcohol Smile

I have been thinking about the poker 'economy' etc a lot the last few days! Reading different blogs on other sites really got me thinking abt the whole rakeback grinder label! I have always attached a bad stigma to being a rakeback grinder and would much rather play lower volume and concentrate on a decent win rate! But from reading multiple blogs of 200nl players making a good living from the game most of them got there by having a very small win rate and grinding huge volume e.g. rakeback!

So I think my plan with my awesome initial deal on betfair where ill be looking at 70%+ returns in the first 45 days is to play as much volume as possible! Think the goal is going to be 80k hands in 45 days minimum! If I can achieve a win rate of somewhere near 1bb/100 I should be looking at a pretty cool profit! So Im here in the lodge until monday then the challenge starts Smile

Hey guys been a bit quiet on here lately! My flat sale is going through next week so had loads of life stuff going on etc! So just had a bit of a break! I got myself properly set up on Betfair on Saturday!

I don't want to jinx myself but it has gone quite well so far! I was under the impression that 20nl speed at I poker was tough but that is certainly not the initial impression I have! The pros are the player pool and the insane bonuses! Negative is defo the software! I have been using the new BETA software and it looks great but is still super LAGGY and glitchy! It is bearable but pretty annoying! Hey ho you cant have everything!

Im going to update with a graph etc every 10k hands or so!

Hey guys I cannot believe it is 3 months since I have updated this blog!

I have had so much going on outside of poker that I have played very little unfortunately! That is hopefully going to change from tomorrow, new month new start! I have been playing bits and bobs but nothing serious! My year so far poker wise has gone pretty well considering I have just been dipping my toe in! To cut a long story short I deposited £500.00 on Stan James on boxing day and ran it up to about £800.00 by the end of Jan ish! Then switched over to Betfair so I could play Speed and get slightly better returns! As I stand now I have £810.00 in my roll and have withdrawn £400 of my original £500! So I have £700.00 profit in 2016!

Apart from outside influences one big reason I have not played much is that I cannot for the life of me seem to get the hang of balancing volume and A game! I either play 4k hands a week and win at 8bb/100 or play 2k hands in a day and bleed money! So my main goal is to steadily increase volume while maintaining a decent win rate! Goal for July is 30k hands! This isn't much too most of you but I am pretty sure I have never played 30k hands in a month in my life Smile

I don't have any goals for moving up etc at the moment! I'm currently at 20nl speed and feel comfortable there! So just want to improve my game while staying at 20nl!

Lastly, I plan on using Snowie for almost all of my study for a little while! I had the free trial of it and thought it had a load of potential! I have just been given a new free trial by them and then I think I will start a subscription!

Think that's all for now as I don't want to bore you! I plan to update a couple of times a week with good quality updates! LETS GO!

Oioi yeh man don't neglect this baby!

How are the speed games atm? What is the traffic like as I know 100nl died at one point!
Posted 7 years ago
Yeah I have noticed a bit of a slump recently! Was playing last night and there was only 60-70 in the 20nl pool! One thing last night tho was that it seemed to be less regs rather than fish! Which is a bit strange! Would be a real shame if it fizzled out as it is the only fast fold variant around offering decent rakeback!

I actually split my roll and registered an account with Tonybet on Friday! Couldn't resist the insane returns and the soft games! I love the software too but unfortunately the traffic has been the worst I have ever seen! 8pm each night over the weekend there was one 25nl table running! Hard to understand and it is a great little site! I will persevere for a bit and see if it picks up!

Hey guys I don't really have anything particularly exciting to update as I am making a conscious effort to try and not pay much attention to win rate etc. Like I mentioned my main problem in poker is balancing win rate and volume. I find myself checking my graphs every few hundred hands. This then leads to me quitting after 500 hands or so because I am a good chunk in profit and want to book a win. Or quitting because I am behind and do not want to tilt off money Smile Lose lose.

I watched a Bodo video recently where he calculated hourly rates between a grinder with a small win rate and a bum hunter with a huge win rate. The grinder's hourly was so much better. Was really interesting to see it all laid out like that. So that is my plan, only really check results once per week and post a decent update on here. The rest I will just be trying to play a good solid game with good solid volume. So far it is a bit of a struggle but I am determined to get the balance.

Any of you guys thoughts/experience/struggles with this would be great to hear..........

I'm a fiend for tracking results mid sessions but I don't think they impact me too much regardless of how I am doing. I'm also pretty good at realising when I'm tilting and cutting a session earlier than expected.

It's my first time in this thread, subbed now and looking forward to more updates! Keep up the good work!

Grind and bumhunt is easy. Be good at table selection and start tables on another screen. Leave the bad tables as you open more and more euntill you have your normal number of tables with fish on them. Grind awayyy Smile

Thanks man much appreciated. The title of this thread couldn't be more fitting as 1.5 years on I am still stumbling about learning as I go Smile

That was the idea behind registering for Tonybet. Plenty of fish and still good bonuses etc. But unfortunately there is only ever 1-2 tables of 25nl running. I had a look at the 50nl games the other day as they actually run a bit more than the 25nl ones. It was the same really poor player pool pretty much so I couldn't resist jumping in even though I am not rolled. Just played one table for this reason but obviously I ran terrible and dropped a buyin or so. Still think it was worth a shot as you wouldn't believe the level of play for 50nl.

Have multiple sites then Smile get to grind all the tonybet tables and also get in the volume from other sites Smile
Posted 7 years ago
Yep the idea at the moment is soft games on Tonybet and SPEED on Betfair for volume. Best of both worlds in theory.........
