My journey to becoming a pro (hopefully!)
About me:
29, Manchester based
Decent paying job that I do three days/week with another self employed side earner that takes up a lot of weekends
Played poker a lot around 10 years ago but then quit for uni and have got back into it recently
Bank rolled for NL50 and have played it for the past 2 months seriously, have been profitable both months
Goals:
Get up to NL200 with 25 BI roll i.e. 5 grand and maintain decent winrate
Quit day job when have additional 6 months of living expenses saved from poker earnings (6 grand)
Whilst still in job, play 30-50k hands per month, more if possible
Maintain this thread as a log
What I've done so far:
Played around 50k hands, 30k seriously with HUD etc and been profitable for the last two months albeit with good rb deals
Read/studied extensively and had a coaching session with a reputable coach, and now feel comfortable at NL50, although I realise my sample is small
Grinded bankroll from $1500 to $2000 (roughly)
What I plan to do:
Takes 5 buyin shots at the next limits aggressively, when I have 25 buyins. So $500 worth at NL100 when I hit $2500
Study extensively and review sessions
Have further coaching
Work on my tilt issues
Supplement with the occasional live casino session
What I need from you guys:
Just suggestions on hands I post, encouragement etc. Also I strongly suspect that ipoker is filled with bots and am hesitant to play there any longer. 888 seems the softest but the rb deal is awful. Does anyone have any recommendations for a beatable network that also has decent rb deals?
That's it for now, will try and update after every session and won't skip the bad ones. I realise this is a lofty goal but I think achievable with the right mindset. Would be good to hear of any similar stories or just feedback in general!!
Bankroll: $2000
First update coming soon
Cheers, Luke
