Not going well Sad 10NL will have to wait for another while

That is a rediculous day right there buddy and one you cannot avoid. The QQ v KQ is just so f'ing random with him checking the turn.

It's never easy that's for sure but you just have to embrace it, put it to the side and make it power you on to crush today/tomorrow and so on.

Ever thought about changing up sites? I just started a crushing the micros series on Unibet and the action is insaneeeeeeeee. Also with us you get the deposit bonus, missions and our $55k monthly rake race. Take a look at it Here. I truly believe you might be able to make some serious money here. Let me know!

I know! Very frustrating! I rarely let it get to me but that session was just too much haha

I have a good bit of money spread across several sites at the moment, I'm thinking of withdrawing it all at some point and getting it together in a new account somewhere! Will definitely hit you dudes up when I get around to it!

I think 888 is crazy soft but it's hard to play a solid game when you get into soooo many unique spots with fish. I feel like I can't play the way I know is best at times. I pretty much can never put them on ranges

Will play a session when I get home from work! Hopefully can turn things around! 😊

Just variance there mate! That's part of poker that we all don't like. Just keep grinding, play your A game and results will come. GL

Up up and away!

You finding you are playing better or doing anything different or hands just working out as they should?
Posted 8 years ago*
I just played a little tighter but other than that, no big changes! I'm fairly happy with my game lately overall. I think I'm playing the best I've ever played so I'll keep going with the current strategy for the moment.

Something I've been focusing on more at these limits is losing the minimum. I always used to fight like crazy for pots, but I've come to accept that fish at 5NL never fold. So now it's value value value when I have it, and slow down when they start fighting back and I'm not too strong

A problem for me is the amount of short stackers on 888 Snap. Obviously these guys are quite bad (which is great), but I get into sooo many awkward spots with them... I definitely need to work on my game against these players Surprised

Also, when a short stacker 3bet's/raises, I tend to give them credit pretty much all the time. If they're playing short stacked, I don't expect them to have a balanced 3bet bluffing range Cheeky But on the other hand, I think I'm folding too much them when they show strength even though I know some of these will bet 3 streets with bottom pair haha It's tough to get solid reads on them compared to the regs I find

Do you ever play fast poker variations Jon? I know you're mainly on the reg tables

Stayed in my girlfriends house last night so unfortunately couldn't get in any play! Meeting friends after work for a few brewskies tonight! Might be able to get in a few zoom hands before then.

My main session for the weekend will be tomorrow if I'm not too hungover!

When you guys go out, do you be careful how much you drink if you plan on grinding the following day? Poker with a hangover is never nice =/

I don't play that much fast variants tbh although have probs played 500k ish hands of Rush on FTP. Very soft there but the games died down a bit so nowadays just more regular!

What would be your main reasons for reg vs speed out of interest?

colly191091:

You'r quote just made to my whiteboard behind my desktop, I tend to forget this rule way to much Wink

I feel you their.. I just hate it to only play 1 street postflop...

I had some bad experince playing with a hangover. I would really suggest to just take a day off.

colly191091: What would be your main reasons for reg vs speed out of interest?

If this question is not only for Jon. I would like to refer to something I caught up while watching "Mingthemerciless93"

-On regular tables you can built up some table dynamics and react accordingly.
-And if you manage to have a recreational player sitting to your right, why not keeping it like that? You want to be IP all the time rather than beeing OOP the next hand you are playing with him.
Posted 8 years ago
@Dschunkz Focusing on minimising my losses has helped soooooo much! No more crazy fancy plays or making silly calls because of entitlement tilt Smile Just because I had the best hand on the flop, doesn't mean I have it by the river when the board doesn't run out my way. I can just fold on the river now when facing extreme strength.

In terms of drinking/hangover, I'm quite tipsy right now but I'll be grand in the morning! SESSIONNNNNNN! Luckily I didn't get slaughtered! Quite an early night

That's very true about the reg vs. speed tables. For some reason though, I find it much easier to concentrate on hands when playing speed?! I have no idea why haha

Nice one!!! Keep it up Smile

colly191091: Hahaha I don't usually get tilted but I'm not gonna lie, that one hurt!

I'm the exact same as you! 350 with a 5 shot buy in! I'm at around 340 right now on 888 and 120 on Stars so technically I have more than enough over the 2 sites. 470 total bankroll

I think I should try stick to each site on their own though... 888 is soft so will take shots at 10NL there

I had a really bad downswing at 4NL reg tables a while back. It really opened my eyes to the brutalness of variance. The hard thing about the reg tables is the lack of volume I can get in, when I lose a few stacks, I feel like it's gonna take foreverrrr to get back! I need to work on my patience! :P

Good luck moving up. I'm in a similar situation with the bankroll, must have a grand spread across 15 sites but I won't move up til I've run up enough on one site. Sounds like 350 is the standard then for a shot at 10NL. I've a ways to go but reading your thread has given me a motivational boost to get there in the next few months. Run good Smile

Cheers for dropping by @jongordon84! I feel I'm ready to move up but I haven't been running too amazing lately so not sure to wait off haha My BR is currently $346! We'll see what this week brings haha SCARYYYY

Hahaha Will try my best @Jon-PokerVIPCheeky

So, it's my fathers birthday today! Some visitors coming over for a yummy Chinese takeaway! What's your favourite dish?

I'll hopefully get some hands in on the speed tables later!

I really need to work on dedicating some time to reg tables thoughhh =/ After a full day in work, it's just way too easy to get hands in on the Zoom / Snap tables blehh
