Moving on Up

Posted 8 years ago

Hi I am new to Poker VIP. My name is Kris and I am from Ireland. I love playing Zoom poker and the occasional MTT. I am trying to move up in stakes and this is where I am going to write about it.

I currently have a bankroll of $35 and am playing 0.02/0.05 stakes. I know BM is important but what I am going to attempt is to a 5 stack rule until I get to 0.10/0.25 and ten stacks from there. Also if I loose 3 stacks I move back down in stakes.

I will try and update everyday. Wish me Luck

Welcome!

My BR advice for u is to play NL2 unitl $100 then move up to NL5...zoom is really hard variance and with only 7 BI u will play under big pressure and thats not good.

GL at tables!

Thank you for the advice. So essentially a 20 stack rule then?

Played in an around 1,000 hands yesterday and broke even. I then decided to play a few tournies, I got a deepish run in one of them coming 70th out of 2,000.

What did I learn. That my new HUD from Jivaro is working wonders as I had not had a deep run in a tourney in a while. Also it is after opening up some valuable insights about Zoom players and how they play.

Onwards and Upwards here we go.

Hi Lads,

Cheers for the support Colly and Jon. I am from Waterford to answer one question and I play a small bit live but not much, as there dont be much happening in this part of the country and would not know where to go to even set up a tournament. But I would love to try set one up.

Even in Dublin, the scene is quite dead Sad There's a few big buyin tourneys but not much weekly events! I'd love to get a good home game together even

How are you finding the Zoom tables?

Have you just deposited $35 or ran it up?

Ya I have a Home Game here every Friday so its something. But no decent Tournaments with a nice cash prize.

Good like two summers ago I ran $5 up to $600 on the zoom so I am trying the same here again.

Ya I am after running it up to $35 playing 0.01/0.02.

What do you play most?

Yes the site has changed - Can you not see how different it looks? Giggle

Some things will take time to migrate across, others will be bugs. Any issues you can post them in this Thread

Just an Update on the Journey.

Yesterday I played in and around 1,000 hands again and lost one and half stacks, some sick spots but as mentioned variance is high.

So far today I have played 500 hands and have won Two stacks so I am in around the $40 dollar mark.

Will let everyone know how the rest of the day goes tomorrow.

Hi just a quick update. There is an interesting live game tonight in Waterford for 2 Irish Open tickets. Its €120 but I only have sixty. I can still play but can not get the add on or the rebuy if knocked out. The starting stack is 10,000 and 20min blinds.

Does anyone think I could chance not getting the rebuy?
