NL10 KK

So I wanted to post this and get feedback from the community. I find myself in spots like this fairly frequently.

On this particular hand, the board pairs the Q on the turn and I have KK. I have one of those "feelings" that villain has Qx and I am now fairly dominated. I have tendency to get a little bit of monsters under the bed syndrome, when scare cards come out, like flushes/straights completing, board pairing, etc. Due to that fact, in this hand I end up checking the turn and take this, "well I will call any river, if bet is not too big type of mentality. Kind of figuring that if I check the turn I due in fact that I feel like I am manipulating their range and allowing them to bluff rivers. I can't say with certainty, but it does feel like in a lot of cases they have me beat and I am just calling ariver where I am beat a large percentage of the time.

This got me thinking, that because I am IP, maybe it is better to bet the turn, maybe a smaller size, where I control how much I am betting and if I get raised then it would possibly make sense to fold. If I get called then I have the option to check back the river, but not sure if all that is the best play in a spot like this.

I still think a small value bet is possible on the turn.

Villain will have some draw combos which can still call. Tx can stick around too. By not betting you're putting yourself in a situation where you're bluff catching on the river as JJ or worse won't bet, so it's either Qx or a missed flushdraw bluffing which at 10NL won't be frequent enough.

If you think you might have a profitable value bet on an unfavourable turn card in position, it's generally best to take it to keep control of the hand, and also allowing yourself to check behind on the river. If you get raised then mostly you're going to have a lot of easy folds.
