Today marks the start of five weeks of exciting poker action on ACR when the Online Super Series Cub3d returns for the sixth edition. Still buzzing from the excitement after âPORKONOMARâ won the $8 million GTD Venom, ACR are refusing to let up and are keeping the momentum going with another fantastic series.
Three Series
Just like previous editions of the Online Super Series Cub3d there will be three different series all rolled into one. Something for everyone.
The MOSS - Mini Online Super Series - kicks off the excitement with the smaller buy-in events. Nobody ever feels excluded at ACRâwhen something is going on thereâs always a suitable tournament for the recreational player community.
The MOSS runs for two weeks between Sunday February 7th to Sunday 21st, culminating in a $55 buy-in $500,000 GTD Main Event.
After the two week warm up with smaller buy-ins things start to heat up in the OSS - Online Super Series. This is the flagship tournament series where there is still something suitable for all players but now there will be some life-changing money on the table.
The OSS is another two week series that runs between February 22nd to March 7th. But this time the climax will be a $1,000,000 GTD $630 buy-in tournament that will make somebody rich. Real life changing money.
The final week of the OSS Cub3d is the BOSS - Bigger Online Super Series - which caters for the high stakes crowd that canât get motivated for regular size events.
Again there will be a $1,000,000 GTD Main Event to finish with that this time comes with a sizable $2,650 buy-in.
Wrap Up
Five weeks of fast and furious tournament poker action should be enough for even the most hardened player who canât get enough. This week saw an $8 million Venom tournament breaking records for ACR and now they are breaking another with the longest ever OSS Cub3d.
There will be a whopping $13 million worth of tournament guarantees but no doubt the real prize pools will be much larger.
- Two $1 Million GTD Tourneys
- Three Consecutive Series
- $13 Million in prize pools
For players who donât have any romance planned for Valentineâs Day, there will be a special $300,000 PKO tournament to cheer them up!
Chris Moneymaker Signs as ACR Brand Ambassador
Last month, Chris Moneymaker announced that he was walking away from his ambassadorship role with PokerStars. We had no idea if he was calling time on his career, almost 20 years after he started the poker boom.
What happened was ACR Phil Nagy knew which buttons to press to get Moneymaker onside and he will now be representing them as a brand ambassador for the foreseeable future.
Speaking to Poker.org Moneymaker said:
Somehow we started a conversation. I heard what (ACR) was doing, and I heard all the improvements theyâve been making to the site and how theyâre fighting bots. And basically to me it seemed like PokerStars did back in 2004, 2005. Theyâre really trying to grow the game.â
The former accountant also opened up on why he isnât calling it a day in his working life just yet.
Iâm 45 years old, Iâve got three kids, I canât not work. But Iâm not qualified for anything anymore. I couldnât do your taxes as good as H&R Block could. My only qualification at this point in life is, âdo you want fries with that?'â
This signing is a measure of just how far ACR has come over the last couple of years. To prise such a name away from the market leaders shows how serious they are about their future plans.
