Hit (alt)

The word "hit" in poker terms means to get the card that either makes or helps to make a player's hand. For instance, someone who is holding a pair of sixes on a flop of 5-7-8 and the turn is a 9, then that player "hit" his straight.

"When the river came up as the third heart on the board, I hit my flush with my pocket hearts."
