ICM

ICM stands for Independent Chip Model. It is often used in poker as a way of representing a player's equity at any particular moment in time during a tournament. These independent chip models were created for analyzing the expected value (EV) of any given push/fold situation during single-table tournaments. It is a method that is based on remaining stack sizes as well as the structure for the payout. In simpler terms, ICM can calculate what a player's chips are worth (as a dollar value) when based on how that player's stack (along with the payouts) would influence his finish on average.
